Clinics and Construction

The medical team left today to do a clinic at one of the villages. I believe they will be gone overnight.

The construction team continues to work on the structure to the 2nd story mission house. Tim was saying that he is extremely blown away by how the Bolivian's work. We really do take for granted all that we have in the United States. There is not a Home Depot in Entre Rios. So, you chop down trees and make lumber!

Everyone is having fun with the kids that come around.

I think Tim said they had beef and mash potatoes for dinner tonight.

About 30 people showed up last night to the church building. There was a worship time and the medical and construction team got up and introduced themselves. Angela brought her English students and they did a skit. It was about a construction team and a medical team! Tim said it was funny and everyone enjoyed it. I hope someone videotaped it.

Tim said everyone is having the time of their life. God is doing so much and I believe this trip is one that they will remember for many years to come.

Sorry the details are vague. Five minutes on the phone goes by real fast!

Thank-you so much for sharing. I have enjoyed hearing the updates, and praying for them. Though this makes me all want to go back to Haiti again. I can't believe I have to wait another 2 years before I can go again :( I look forward to hearing all that God is doing, and going to do in their lives. I hope this trip for them will be as life changing as it was for us in Haiti. Anything I can be praying for you about while your husband and daughter are away?

Thanks for asking! Please pray that I would be a steward of my time while they are gone. Also, I miss them very much. Pray for God's peace and comfort to be with me!

Just wanted to thank you again for keeping up the blog page. Josh went on the La Paz team but it's still nice to read what the other Bolivia teams are working on. Of course, if anybody hears anything from the La Paz team, I'd surely welcome that information as well. At this point, all that I know is that they left La Paz for six days to help lead a youth retreat in a location that is at a lower elevation than La Paz. Just wondering, how is it that you're able to get pictures from Entre Rios? I thought that was pretty neat.

The picture was sent to the team about a month ago.

Tammy,
How has Tim been calling you? Is it on a cell phone or a land line? If a land line, where is he calling you from? The reason I'm asking is because the last time Tony called us he said it was VERY expensive. If they can get cell phone service it is not to expensive for international calls. If Tim was using his cell phone and he can get service, could you please convey thru Tim to Tony to use his cell phone next time he can call home?
Thanks,
Bobby

Tim is actually using a land line. I believe they have to walk to this place where they can make calls. Yes, it is very expensive. And, I don't think cell phone service works there. I will ask though if Tim calls tonight.
Holly, how is Chip calling you?

Thanks again Tammy because if it were not for you, we would not have know that the Med team went out to spend the night. I knew they would some time, but it sure is nice to know where they are. PTL for this!!

I am writing for my mom,

My understanding is that the only way to use cellphones over there is if it is a GSM unlocked (unlocked in the sense that your SIM Card is not tied to a specific carrier) World Phone or a SAT phone, which can be expensive and don't actually work everywhere in the world. I know my dad and brother have been using a little place in Entre Rios to make calls. I was there 6 years ago and do remember more than 5mins of talk time, starts getting expensive. I hope that helps :)

There is a place there to make calls. It's this little building where there are phone booths set up. You pay for the service...it's actually not that expensive when you compare it to dollars, unless they have increased the rates from when I was there two years ago. You can also get internet service there which is even cheaper than a phone call. I'm surprised if you haven't received an email yet!

Thanks for the updates!

Everyone, thanks for pnone information. We knew it might be difficult for Tony to call us and we're glad he was able to call us once already. Plus we get to hear updates and the team's where-abouts when Tim calls! Thanks again.

Ok, you know that should have been: "the phone..." :)

The next time someone talks to someone (?) let's ask them if they know about a place to use internet!! That would be great!
