Medical Team Update!!

This update just came in from Emily Morgan. She heard from Chris this morning.

All is going well. The medical team has been very busy going to villages to serve in clinics. They went to one area deep in the mountains where people didn't even speak Spanish! Chris said they spoke an old tribal language, so the team had to employ two translators, one to go from the tribal language to Spanish and the other from Spanish to English!

They are seeing quite a few cases of skin problems, scabies and body sores. They also seen a 5 year old boy who was tongue-tied. His tongue stuck to the bottom of his mouth and was unable to talk. They were able to clip the skin on the bottom of his mouth and free the boys tongue! Wow! Later that day, the boy came around showing everyone he could freely move his tongue. Just think of the plans God might have for this little boy!

They are going this morning to another village. The team is tired but they are having a wonderful time!

Please continue to pray for the medical team. That God would give them strength and endurance the next few days as they continue and finish the clinics.

The LaPaz team spent 6 days at a youth conference. I believe they get back today.

This "tight frenulum" condition is hereditary in our family! I had such trouble talking until mine was clipped when I was seven -- it was an instant fix to my speech problems. Many of our children had their frenulums clipped when they were babies. I'm glad they were able to help this little boy.

I pasted in this post onto my own Bolivia Mission:X page at www.virginiaknowles.com/bolivia

Thanks for doing this, Tammy!

What a blessing this has been for us as parents and grandparents---to be able to keep abreast of what is happening with Chip and Taylor on this mission trip. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Holly also keeps us posted here in Vero Beach. Look forward to each days postings. God bless you for sharing with all.

Dear Tammy,
I haven't written before now, but have faithfully followed all the postings. Thank you for keeping us informed.
As Jack mentioned, we miss David so much, but know he is right smack in the middle of God's will. Since we won't be able to see him when he departs, will some of ya'll please hug him for us? (A BIG LONG HUG!)
Love to all our Orlando church family,
Susan Bush

Susan,
I will put out the word. I know it must be difficult be so far away. But as you said, you know David is right where God has him.

I spoke with Chip last night. They are all very grateful that still no one has gotten sick! The construction team was quite excited to have poured the concrete for the entire second floor yesterday. He sees a mutual love and enjoyment between our people and the Bolivians. God has been so good to everyone!

Here is an update from Bolivia:

Last night Tim accidentally cut off his other small toe... he cried a lot, but once he put some lotion on it he was OK.

Alex is engaged to a Bolivian girl he met in Tarija. I guess thats what happens when you go to a country where you don´t speak the language... I may have had a small part to play in that...

Jorge was diagnosed with IBS by Derrik, and Chris was kind enough to donate all his worldly possesions to the misson.

The "Three amigos" all got an incurable string of scabies.

SeƱor Chip has already gained 12 pounds and is loving every one of them.

Tim has recently been showing his softer side to me... no es bueno.

This as seen through the eyes of David Bush.

The Sound Ninja should stick to doing what he does best, sound. I think he should work for a Tabloid or something like that??? It is stange that The Sound Ninja did not refer to himself in any part of this post, David why is that? You do always crack me up. I think you might want to get your eyes checked bro ;)

Correction: the construction team put in all the headers for the 2nd story and poured cement into those, not the floor.

Tomorrow they're taking it easy -- our teams have challenged them to basketball and they have challenged our guys to soccer. Should be fun!
